Example: If you are using Raspbian you will see v7, but if you install something else meant for v8 (aarch64) like Ubuntu Mate (aarch64) you will see v8. I don't understand the hostile reviews of it being falsely advertised as ARMv8 when it's "really" v7. The reason why it shows as v7 when running system information tools is because it runs in v7 mode since the software cannot run it in v8 mode.
