The QC inspector slept at work.

I had 4 pairs of such wires in my hands and on each wire one of the ends was dangling and had a weak connection. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that the crimping machine had overcrimped the connector, causing part of the thimble to be loose and grounded and not making a connection. Until they fix their quality control issues I would skip this one. You get what you pay for

They might seem like they work, but.

Both cables I received measure >10 ohms end to end at the ground wire (should be < 0.1 ohms). I see strongly oscillating waveforms (like square waves) on the oscilloscope when I touch or move wires. I also ran an impedance test (1MHz to 50MHz) and saw variations up to 63 ohms (should be 50 ohms). This indicates unacceptably poor workmanship and inadequate quality control. I see other reviews from over two years ago that found the same bad connection issues. So why buy Dog Connect cables…

These are 50ohm cables (similar to RG-58) with BNC ends. Note. There are coaxial cable standards for 50 and 75 ohms. Most pure HF devices are designed for 50 ohms. Most analog video and many RF video applications use 75 ohms. The 50 ohm BNC standard predates the 75 ohm standard. Most, but not all, common BNC connectors are themselves 50 ohm standard, like this one - sometimes even when used in 75 ohm applications. Some high-end video equipment uses a true 75 ohm BNC connector, which at first…
