I had an air conditioning leak in my 1994 Jeep.

My 1994 Jeep has a constant air conditioning leak. I finally decided I had to find it myself and stop relying on $90 and watch stores. I found the leak in less than a minute! It was in the schrader valve on the high pressure side. All I had to do was remove the caps and the snooper went nuts.

    • Good but not great

    false alarms everywhere. Useless.

Shows coolant leaks where there was no leak. If you accidentally touch the copper pipe, it will think it has found a leak. Even after you pull it out, it keeps beeping until it turns off and on again. Comparing this to a real leak indicates a leak. But it's useless if he thinks everything else in the world is leaking. If I turn the sensitivity down, it doesn't detect anything even if it's placed directly in the refrigerant stream. I only found the leak when I got lucky and saw oil residue on…

    Does not recognize R410!

I would give zero stars if I could. Beware. This device does not recognize R410! I've followed the instructions several times in different situations and couldn't get it to detect a leak (which was previously confirmed by a service technician with a much more expensive pro unit). I even put the detector on the valve of the R410 cylinder and blew it out with refrigerant. NOTHING! If I had time I would open it up and see if there is a real detection system. The bottom line is that there is no…

    good sensitivity

I liked it, a good level of sensitivity. Others may have encountered problems as closing the tip activates the sensor. Don't tap the surface and it will work great. Definitely exceeded my expectations for the price. The size is good, the neck is very flexible but keeps its shape. I took off a star because the battery cover/bracket installation is fairly cheap and clumsy and difficult to assemble and I was afraid of damaging the wires when reassembling. Compromise for the cost I suppose. I can…

Didn't work out of the box!

Item didn't work right away! We are back! We tried not to spend hundreds of clicks on one or the other. It was a fantastic price when it worked! We wanted to try that. We were trying to find a freon leak in my car and we put the sensor on a can of slowly leaking freon and it didn't work AT ALL. So how is he supposed to find my freon leak if he can't even find the leaking freon can?! We tried anyway, even AFTER using Freon UV dye and found a real leak. DO NOT DO THIS AGAIN. So no, this thing…

A nice tool to have on hand if you are a DIY enthusiast!

This little gadget paid for itself within hours of receipt. I had a leak in the air conditioning on a 2003 Crown Vict. it only holds the refrigerant for 24 hours. As soon as I could, I poured in half a can of refrigerant to activate the compressor. I turned off the engine and checked for a gas leak. I found it in less than 3 minutes. It was a low pressure switch that wasn't properly tightened when I replaced the battery after replacing the compressor. (Idiot, me!) I was delighted to find the…
