I have several wooden panels of different sizes that I am pouring together. Instead of a release agent I just use this tape. A bit expensive to use only once and throw away, although you can do that. It sticks really well, especially on those cheap white chipboard shelves or painted 2x4s. The smaller the pores, the better the adhesion. On the other hand, epoxy is NOT sticky. It dissolves instantly, leaving a clean, shiny finish. It works well with a blow dryer but will frizz from open flames.

Sometimes you need a good wide resin tape. It depends on what you're going to cut, but wider isn't a bad thing since you never have to fill to the brim or anything anyway. It's nice and sticky. Also good for working with metal molds or filling jewelry - as long as the ribbon can make contact with your piece without gaps so your resin doesn't spill out.
