Great scanner, great price

Great product. I was able to scan over 3,500 pages, many of which were double-sided, with relatively little effort and time. The document feeder works very well, rarely jams and notifies you immediately when it happens. Customizable options allow the user to customize the scanner for a specific job, making the actual scanning process simple and consistent for each specific project. While I still use a flatbed scanner for photos or unusually shaped materials, the Epson is ideal for standard…

Exceeded all expectations

I can't believe I've been scanning documents with all-in-ones for so many years. I have never thought of buying an Epson product. All of this has changed. It actually makes 25 ppm. Two-sided documents also have a speed of 25 pages per minute, so 50 pages per minute. When I need high resolution (600 pixels per inch) it slows things down a bit. APD works great. After almost 5 months of daily use it has never jammed except maybe a few times when I didn't remove the braces. You can't blame the…

Good scanner at an affordable price

This is a decent scanner for a small office. Scans pretty fast. The software is not that bad, but it is much slower than the ScanSnap software in comparison. I have a ScanSnap ix500 but I need a TWAIN compliant scanner for the software and I've tried. A very good scanner for the price. Using TWAIN in a Fujitsu scanner costs about $600 more than this one. So considering the price difference, it definitely works! If you've had a Fujitsu before (like me) you'll notice a noticeable difference in…

Great scanner for archiving your paper files

I have a larger Epson multifunction device but the sheet feeder is having a problem with paper smaller than 8x10. I bought this one because it was supposed to work on smaller paper and got a nice surprise. It's fast. If you want, it scans both sides at the same time, which makes archiving old documents easier, and simply flips through the pages at incredible speed. It would have been better if the input tray was rotated backwards a little more as tri-fold pages sometimes mis-turn and then feed…

Good hardware, mediocre software, insane network option

This scanner looks like a solid piece of hardware. It has full roll units at the top and bottom to separate pages. We've had it for about a week and have gone through about 600 pages with it already. Every page loads perfectly every time. As others have pointed out, the included software sucks. Suffice it to say that it comes with software for scanning documents. Nothing more. Throw it away and buy something more standard. That is the real strength of this unit. The hardware matches the price…

Priceless for Paperless

The DS-510 is a duplex multi-document scanner that comes with capture software and USB cable connection. Epson WorkForce DS-510 Color Document Scanner The DS-510 scans multiple documents in seconds, front and back. I am manager of two branches of the dental practice. One of our many goals is to go paperless in both offices. As you can imagine, converting hundreds of medical records into digital form can be quite intimidating. I bought four of these scanners, two for each office, and it has made

Extremely disappointed - poor quality product with very poor software

My ScanSnap ix500 died after 4 years and I bought it as a replacement. I hesitate to return this and pay another $150 for another ScanSnap. The Epson scanner is much inferior - even the lid and paper tray are difficult to open. The device does not close tightly and securely, which makes it look very cheap. The scanner is also very slow compared to the top of the range ScanSnap. While Epson scans pages almost as quickly, the software takes much longer to process each page. Speaking of software…

A connection alone would be fine.

***UPDATE*** 12/08/16 My prototype repair outlasted the second connection component. So I unnecessarily reworked my design. Presenting the Mk.II, a drinking straw reinforced with HVAC metal tape. If someone has a 3D printer, I think we could get rich making spare parts for those devices. The path between the options stops the click. If you're more of the "let me try to fix that" type than the "let me buy a new one" type, I've found that the problem was caused in a weird way: Epson designed the…
