I work in a refrigerator and this, together with a hat, warms my face/head sufficiently. Going in the freezer (-20) is a different story. I have an extra balaclava for that.

If you drive a snowmobile this is perfect and you get 5 stars IF you wear a helmet. Great as an alternative to the scarf. Unfortunately I use it to keep my head warm and need full head protection.

Quality is ok, but "one size fits all" is too optimistic. It is very comfortable for adult men over 180 pounds. If you weigh over 200 pounds, this can be uncomfortable. If he needs to be under a helmet I can see that comfort can be an attribute. A helmetless helmet as a piece of clothing is only for teenagers, women and men who are smaller or relatively slim.

Inexpensive and useful item for cycling around Seattle on wet and cold early mornings and evenings. I like that the elastane upper allows a helmet to be worn over a balaclava with minimal head circumference and the fleece collar protects sensitive parts from the wind. Be careful not to pull it over your head too tight or you'll have to stop mid-ride and adjust it to get it back in front of your eyes! Bonus: you'll look VERY weird riding your bike down the office corridors.
