They work great. I used them almost every day to attach my scooter to my hitch. The second time I used them, I had to use pliers to unlock the mechanism on one of them. I sprayed them with some wd40 and haven't had any problems since. I've had these for about 5 months now. Retractable straps are the ONLY straps we will be using. The straps do not tangle, the ends do not dangle in the wind when driving on the road. Works great. They are easy to use once you get the hang of them as they work slightly differently than regular ratchet straps. Easy to wind up the strap when you're done. It's easy to pull out just enough of the strap to tie something, roll up the extra strap, and then tighten. They are also longer than the other set of 2 I had. They seem to work even better apart from being longer which makes them even more comfortable. I use them all the time, for example to store different types of whistles.
