The first experience was disappointing to say the least. It takes time to master and understand this thread. First of all, you need to understand that this thread needs to be printed really HOT. You need to rise to at least 245 degrees for it to flow and stick to the previous layers. Heat is needed not only to melt the thread, but also to melt the previous layer again. The filament itself is not as sticky as PLA when melted. So if the previous layer doesn't melt during layering, it won't stick.

Pros
  • 1kg net (approx. 2.2lb) of line on a transparent spool
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

PETG is a great material!

PETG is a great material! everything else turned out to be. I am using Robo3D R1+ with E3Dv6 hotend. * Yes, it prints better with a heated bed and MUCH better than ABS in my opinion. I like 70°C for a bed* YES, the warping is MUCH less than ABS and even PLA (in my opinion)* Yes, it will stretch a little tighter until you reach the right temperature.* Yes, it's stronger than PLA. What have I learned. It seems that printing (for me) is better without a fan. Start at the recommended height and…

Pros
  • Filament diameter 1.75mm (measurement accuracy +/- 0.05mm)
Cons
  • Not sure

My Favorite Filament

I have Flashforge Creator Pro which I use daily, to print various parts for photo and engineering projects. Before I found eSUN PETG, I mainly used ABS filaments. The problem I've found with ABS is that it tends to be a bit brittle and I've had a few parts that had trouble separating the layers under load. There is also the problem of distortion in large parts. When I switched to this thread I found it to be much stronger and a bit more flexible. This helped a lot when assembling the parts…
