Surprisingly good for the price

I took a chance on buying a cheaper digital gauge and it turned out to be good. This is not a kit so you will need to purchase a pressure gauge, T-pipe for the radiator, wire (assuming the wire is short), heat shrink tubing, solder (optional) and a mini fuse plug. Also, the sending device must be EARTHED for it to work.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Band

The number of reviews is limited - they are not worth it.

Bought coolant temp, oil pressure and voltage sensors. I wrote a review for the temperature sensor but I couldn't see the others. OIL PRESSURE - seemed to work on the Autobahn until a few days ago. Suddenly read 0! Removed, checked level and allowed to cool. When I restarted it it rose to 60psi and slowly dropped to 0. The car was at home on a flat surface. I will install a mechanical sensor to determine if it is a sensor or a motor and let you know. VOLTAGE. The good news is that the sensor…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Good but not great

Works well BUT ONLY if you ground it properly

Overall this is a good temperature sensor for the money. BUT - it MUST be properly grounded and the cryptic instructions say nothing about it. The ground for the power supply is different from the ground for the sensor. Only 12 volts for the hot power pin and almost any "good" ground for the negative power pin. If the sensor connected to your radiator's water supply is not grounded at all, it will read 104 degrees Fahrenheit. This is probably the lower limit of the sensor's ability to measure…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Poorly designed
