I've read that 3.2mm is the standard size for a fan. I used it to replace a missing rod for a pendant light. The size seemed right. If it wasn't accurate I couldn't tell if the increments are that small. Fits and works fine. I chose this kit over other options because I don't need 700 feet and I like the mounting options that come with it. I use these metal chains to catch wires in walls. The highlight is that the chain has to stick to the magnet, not all chains fit. The chains sold for this purpose cost $30, but there's nothing special about them to justify the price. I'm glad I found this network that works and is reasonably priced. I will add this to my saved items list.

Not all stainless steel, the links between the bead chains rust fairly quickly when exposed to moisture. If you are looking for a replacement for "dog tags" or ANY outdoor use, this is NOT the manufacturer I would recommend. Rust begins almost immediately upon contact with water, moisture. Obviously NOT all stainless steel. Description is inaccurate. Not recommended.
