Optimized belt drive turntable

Just the right balance of weight and sound quality for those optimizing a belt drive turntable setup. Recommended to add value.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not the best

Additional stabilization for LPS

Stabilizes LPS well. Adds about 4 ounces. onto the record, which helps smooth out any imperfections. Lighter than my other weight which some say is better for belt driven tables.

Pros
  • GOLS certification
Cons
  • High price

I like it. Would I buy again

Works as intended. It has a matte finish, finished look. <66% LIGHTER than the record clamp I've been using for years. to protect the record label from abrasion and probably helps reduce unwanted vibration. It's probably one of the ways it manages to stabilize the record without the added weight of the record clamps that I'm used to.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Unreliable

Perfect weight for a vintage belt-drive turntable

I was concerned about the record weight severely taxing two motors in my 40 year old turntable. While lighter than I would have liked, it offers incremental improvements in tracking and sound quality without taxing the motor.

Pros
  • Music lovers will love it even more - The platter weight stabilizer ensures the perfect contact between record and disc. This easy-to-use platter weight reduces vibration and improves the sound quality of LPs.
Cons
  • New Competitors Arrive

For example installing a new spoiler on my Honda Civic

Let's face it. I just think record weights are cool. This thing is very light, so I don't know if it's any use. It should definitely be heavier, but it looks cool. And I pretty much bought it because it looks cool. I will say one thing for light weight; You could probably even use them on a belt drive turntable. Personally, I would only use direct drive for most vinyl. I'm not a super-passionate audiophile, so I don't expect fantastic sound enhancement from a device like this. I just like the…
