These are stainless steel temples with rubber or silicone tips on the edge of the temple (whatever they are made of). I don't know how many, maybe half a dozen. I've used ALL when just hanging hangers in my closet. It doesn't give me a good idea for the rest of the tips to stay in place. If these spikes extend beyond the edge of the hanger, the edge will become sharp and may scratch and snag on objects.
