Fel Pro, the only way out

My Jeep recently had some sort of cooling system and the Fel Pro are the only pads I would use if given the choice. Worked great, delivered quickly.

Perfect fit for 2006 Jeep TJ Rubicon

Quality seal. Easy installation. I've done the thermostat several times over the years. Get it with your 195 t-stat. Installation is much cleaner than making your own pad of goo.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Hard to tell

FelPro quality pays off

When replacing the water pump and thermostat housing, I knew the gaskets that came with them would not be of the same quality as the Fel-Pro. I'd rather do these jobs once. Fel-Pro offers such a guarantee. Better quality, easier installation and better results - Fel-Pro. I've been using Fel-Pro pads for over 50 years.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • No

granted validity. Jeeps I-6 4.0L 1988 MY and 2006 TJ.

Own a Jeep I-6 4.0L? Need to change the thermostat? When used on properly cleaned surfaces. makes great pressure. and light work. Fits my 1988 MJ and my 2006 TJ. Yes, I always have one handy. cheap and great if the thermostat breaks on the go. pull out and screw on again. detach from the water and slide off the path. Must be.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Useless features

Works, needs RTV

Does not stick, you need to put a thermostat housing gasket on both sides. Lay on the first side and make sure it sticks. Then completely cover the side of the gasket facing the cylinder block and wait 30 minutes for it to harden somewhat. Install as usual. 13 ft lbs with a torque wrench when using a 4.0L Str8-6 engine in Cherokee Jeeps. Be careful when tightening, do it slowly, turning each bolt half a turn at a time until it is snug and snaps onto the wrench. Don't overtighten. If it isโ€ฆ

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

Excellent sealing properties. . .

These new Fel-Pro seals are great, they seal very well on properly prepared surfaces. Take an extra minute to give the mating surfaces a really good clean and you won't have to think twice about doing this little fun job. Thanks for the great pad. This was installed on my 1990 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.0 liter engine. A little note here from April 3rd, 2020. The thermostat housing hasn't shown any signs of leaking so I'm very impressed with the RTV designed gasket, it really does the job. Thanksโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Good overall but...

You don't need silicone, which is not so nice with Felpro!

Whatever gasket you use for your thermostats, use felpro whenever possible. I used a high tack caulking glue for the back (not much) to hold it in place and you just bolt it on with zero RTV, black silicone etc, you just don't need it with this gasket. You must love the Felpro design. However, do not use silicone in place of high tack. They even tell you on this site never to use silicone with seals and use a strong tack sealant. A lot of people use silicone and it will just leak later on after

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Not reliable
