🔧 Fel-Pro Automatic Transmission Gasket - TOS18706 Review

My SUV had a reusable gasket, unfortunately it had a crack so I had no choice but to take a new one, the original is better but after 17 years you are not so reusable, this one is decent, not the best.

This is a transmission oil pan gasket so don't get confused and think it's an engine oil pan gasket. I made that mistake, but I don't really care because I was planning on flushing the transmission oil anyway. So in the end it worked for me. Anyway, I gave it four stars because it's not very clear unless you research further online that it's a transmission oil pan gasket.

Gasket is ok, just thicker than paper how thin, designed for 1 transmission oil change cycle and replaced with another one at the next transmission oil change. Thinner but still better than my Merc Grand Marquis 05 reusable pad. I bought this as a backup in case my original reusable pad breaks or breaks. Flush the transmission and replace the filter. I appreciate the way they package this pad which rests on hard cardboard and is wrapped in plastic so it won't pack up or break during shipping…

Don't waste your money on this gasket unless you know for sure your old gasket is damaged. The factory seal is really strong and will likely last the life of the car. I recently dropped a pan on 3 different 4R70Ws that were between 15 and 20 years old and each pad was perfectly reusable. This Fel-Pro seal has nothing to do with the original seal. Also, the screw holes were too small so you have to take the time to open more of them. Conclusion: save money, buy only when you really need it.
