Useless! - Accessories and Consumables

I have been a radio amateur for over 20 years. This is the first time I've had PL259 side brake center pins on both ports when first used.

The lugs seem to be important. Some of the 90's have a short streak at the end, others are a bit longer. The one I had was too long but I will keep it for the future. I ended up having a friend get me one at the rest stop.

bad connection

If you tighten the outer pin nut, the inner plug is still loose. The case connector is not used to securely connect the shield. Tried new and old devices, none of them caught on.

I do NOT recommend these connectors - they do not provide reliable grounding.

I just bought 6 pairs for a project. But I immediately noticed that the SO-239 connectors are still very loose even with the connectors tightened. Joining the stem on one side of the corner does not provide full continuity on the other side. We put them on the table and checked with the VOM to check the continuity of the connectors while they're installed - and of course if you wiggle the connectors (even if they're fully tightened on both screws) the continuity is broken. .
