I wasn't looking for an exchange. .

I did not look for an exchange. The belt appears to be in between sizes. The next size up I feared might just be too big. So I just kept it and still don't wear it. What I find unusual is that the strip of leather (or tongue) that runs after the grommets (holes) and pointed tip is significantly shorter and would require recalibration. I would still recommend going up the size though.

What happened to Filson?

I guess you can call anything "bridle leather" but if you are looking for a quality strap like the Filson straps from years ago. go on! That's what I expected from a $25 belt you can buy off the shelf at a department store. I even applied one of the popular top shelf conditioners and it didn't even soak the front or back like a piece of premium leather. It's a shame because I have Filson products, from coats and hats to luggage, that I've been buying for decades. and still get strong. The…

Do not buy from third parties

First off, let me say that I have 5 Filson belts, so I obviously like them. I wanted a tan belt and saw a good price on a third party - I usually only buy direct from Filson. The belt had a long scratch along the front loop holes. I sent it back and then ordered it from Filson. It cost more ($30 more) but the strap was perfect.

Best Belt I've Ever Owned

I've been buying these belts for 30 years. I bought this belt 2 months ago. The same belt as always. Excellent quality and definitely a leather belt with a solid brass buckle. I expect this belt to last at least 10 years if I wear it almost every day.

Pros
  • This beautiful Filson® leather belt makes keeping your pants in place that much easier.
Cons
  • I have doubts

What was once a great belt is no longer.

I am compelled to give my former favorite belt a star - not because it necessarily has a star compared to other belts, but because the quality of Filson has really dropped. for many years. This was my favorite belt for years. I really appreciated the ability of the frenulum's thick skin to hold its shape and resist stretching. I also appreciated the fact that this belt had one of the most detachable buckles of any belt. Unfortunately, those two features are no longer on this belt and I didn't…
