🔍 Filtrete Ultrafine Reduction: Unbeatable for Eliminating Microscopic Particles! Review

These are not MERV 14 air filters even though the packaging says so. The pleats are at least half the thickness of the ones I bought before the COVID-19 outbreak. Our air quality is so bad that we could tell right away. How frustrating it was to realize that the old filter was so much better than these new, fake, falsely advertised filters. I have posted photos comparing the fold density of fake MERV 14 and real pre-Covid 19.

I'm the guy who sleeps in my basement. I bought 10 packs of universal filters (from a certain "group coupon" site) and ended up getting sick. Jumped out and paid cash for the filter and the air quality in my house is now incredible. These filters may be overkill, but I will only buy Filtrete in the future. And to allay my fears that the filters are "fake" (according to some Revain reviews), I called 3M and they assured me I was buying a genuine product.

I would happily give it 3.5 stars as it does what it says it filters the air with higher efficiency. HOWEVER, this efficiency comes at a cost, at the expense of your electric bill and the health of your HVAC fan motor. Almost all domestic HVAC systems are not built/balanced to handle such thick media. Of course they will, but they will fight.
