I made a small imaginary fire for my grandnephew. He likes to go hiking, but it's difficult in winter. I bought him a backpack and filled it with everything he needed for his indoor hike. He found the fire so realistic that he blew on the marshmallows he was roasting over the fire. I got him a backpack for his 3rd birthday in November and he still plays with it.

Good devices, but. I wish these manufacturers would stop photographing flames on their products. I keep hoping that someone will actually come up with a "real" flame effect like the one shown. They also lack a timer, making them far from ideal. However, they are the first to make a self-contained pseudo-flame effect lightbulb that is self-contained. The ideal unit has a clear class and a real flame effect - come on guys, you can do it.

We bought these as an experiment. We never use our fireplace, but we didn't want that "dark hole" in the living room. We took some nice logs and placed them on the existing trellis. Then we bought them, loaded them up and put them on their side behind the real tree trunks so they weren't visible.
