The case is solid, but the write-protect switch has to be pushed with a lot of force. You have to be careful not to slip it. Considering it costs twice as much as a comparable non-write-protected USB, the switch needs to be more thoughtful.

If you're connected to the internet and using a multi-boot USB drive, it's good to know it's not available. Your other data may not be there, but your drive will survive to be used another day. I became addicted to a USB stick with a multi-boot operating system. I can "hit and throw". What is safer on the internet. Adaptation is work, but a learning experience every time. You just need to keep your USB drive safe and away from nefarious hands. FlashBlu30 at least protects me while I'm online.

I really like the write protect feature on this disc; that was the main reason i bought it. However, I wonder how long the tiny plastic R/W switch will last. Otherwise a very reliable product. Very good writing speed, excellent reading speed. No extra software is installed (thank goodness U3 is nowhere to be seen). The lid fits well, the device is not too narrow to use on a MacBook Pro when another device is connected next to it. I would buy again.

I used a 32GB Kangaroo Flashblu30 drive as my Ubuntu boot drive on my computer. I have used several other Ubuntu USB sticks. With this flash drive, it takes about 15 minutes to download and update, which normally only takes about 10 seconds! I formatted the disk as bootable, it works fine. However, switching to the locked position writes data to the (Master Boot Record) which causes a permanent change in the bootloader and prevents booting. This isn't a problem if you're just trying to prevent accidental file overwriting or deletion. But it's terrible if you really want to download these files from USB.
