Description of ๐Ÿ”Š Focal Chora 826 Floor Standing Speaker System: 2 Speakers in Light Wood - Unmatched Audio Performance!

The Focal Chora 826 floor standing three-way loudspeaker leads the new Chora range, replacing the entry-level budget Chorus series. The model embodies an affordable Hi-Fi speaker that guarantees complete involvement in music and has an elegant modern design that gravitates towards classic forms. The flagship is equipped with a 165 mm midrange driver and two woofers of the same caliber. All these speakers are united by Slatefiber technology, which involves the use of a special diffuser that has a composite structure (โ€œsandwichโ€). The central layer of such a membrane is placed between two layers of thermoplastic polymer and, in fact, is a non-woven recycled carbon fiber. At the same time, the fibers themselves are โ€œstackedโ€ in one direction, which was done specifically to improve damping properties and increase rigidity. The result is the necessary rigidity, lightness and excellent internal damping, resulting in a precise, dynamic and well-balanced sound with powerful articulated bass. An oval grill with a magnetic mount helps protect the midrange and woofers. High frequencies are handled by a TNF tweeter with an inverted dome made of lightweight aluminum-magnesium alloy. Such a dome provides a wide radiation pattern and excellent spatial characteristics. Its suspension uses Poron material, which has a shape memory effect and minimizes distortion in the band from two to three kilohertz. The tweeter is protected by a non-removable metal mesh and is located in a shallow waveguide. The acoustically inert cabinet of the Focal Chora 826 features a bass-reflex port on the front panel, making it easy to install the speaker in a room. The port received a special design with excellent aerodynamic properties, which eliminates the turbulence of the outgoing air and minimizes distortion. The flagship is equipped with a base with spikes, which has a slight slope. According to the manufacturer, this inclination solves the problems associated with the timing of the speakers, and build the right soundstage, accurately oriented to the listener. To connect the speaker cable on the rear panel of the Focal Chora 826 there are two screw terminals. The flagship is designed to work in large areas and is available in three types of finishes, including black glossy, which allows it to blend in with any interior.

I expected more from the purchase, but not the worst option.

The only reason I wanted to write a review is the terrible quality of the front panel. The film with which the front panel was pasted over went into bubbles after 2 months of use, and in the future these bubbles became more and more. Photo attached after 6 months of use. Otherwise, good speakers, excellent sound with the Marantz SR6015 AV receiver and the design ideally suited my furniture, plus, due to the front location of the phase inverters, it was possible to install close to the wall, but

Pros
  • Good sound, front bass reflex, design
Cons
  • The quality of the front panel is a cheap film. Lost aesthetics after a few months of use.

The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

There are no competitors for this money and much more expensive! A tweeter of this design is found in other manufacturers for much more money.

Pros
  • Gorgeous powerful bass without hum! Crystal mids and highs. They play well at low volume. And at high, the neighbors come)))
Cons
  • Grills would be in the color of the body .

Very high quality product, it's not the first time I bought it.

Setup: - Denon PMA-NE600 amplifier - Pro-Ject T1 player - Focal Chora 826 - Dali speaker cable In neighboring reviews, there are two diametrically opposed opinions about how the speakers on the bottoms sound. I tend to agree that the bottom end is built and present in the right amount, and if it isn't, it's worth listening to with other amps.

Pros
  • - They play on a large scale, in the right room and with the right one create the effect of presence and very clearly delineate the stage - Detailed, but preserving the musical flow. How it manifests itself: you can sit on the sofa and listen to the nuances and details, or you can start dancing. - Great for heavy genres (Slayer, Nile, Gojira) and classics (Mahler, Shostakovich) - Omnivores, play even with the Denon PMA-NE600. But they will open up with more expensive amplifiers. - Beautiful, to be honest.
Cons
  • - They have a relatively narrow "Hi-Fi" spot - in my case (the speakers are at a distance of 5 meters from each other with a slope of 15 degrees from the perpendicular), this place is about 1.5x1.5 meters, at other points the sound changes. - Finishing seems cheap, but that's probably okay. - Sometimes it seems that they are buzzing on the bottoms, but I blame the amplifier. - On the bottoms, they can't cope in conjunction with Denon with fast funk compositions like RHCP
