Flowmaster 71419 FlowFX Muffler Stainless Review

Great deep soft cat back sound Anyone who loves rumble and a deep exhaust note will love this muffler, the way a truck should sound. 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe 5.3L great upgrade. I bought two and ran one at each bank.

Replaced the trunk muffler and left everything else on my '07 Ram Hemi. Sounds good and not too loud as I left the crampons and rear half stick. Not bad, only $60 for exhaust. The local muffler shop wanted $100 just for welding, so I bought 2 band clamps from there as well. Worked great. Much shorter than the stock muffler so I bought an 18" exhaust pipe and clamp from my local parts store.

Wanted to put a second muffler on my truck to make it a little quieter. The test installed by literally pushing it against my exhaust pipe and it got louder. Not just a guess, I used a dB meter because I didn't believe in it. I'm assuming a round body and how should it be constructed to be more of a resonator? And someone mentioned that the resonators need tubes after the body to work. I bought the oval body version and the difference in sound is noticeable.

This is the third muffler or resonator I have tried on my LS 6.0 Turbo. I needed something that would muffle the sound enough not to disturb my neighbors but lose the cam hot rod sound. Others I tried almost sounded like the exhaust was blocked and my camera lost. But this one gave it that crisp hot rod cam sound. Still noisy, but not a noisy race car. People comment on how good it sounds. Mine falls out in front of the rear wheel and it doesn't rumble on the freeway. i love this shop

I like the powerful, harsh sound of this "muffler" but it hums a bit on my 2002 Silverado 4.8L V8. Mind you, it's nowhere near as bad as my old Flowmaster Super10, but you can hear it every time you step on the gas pedal. Overall, though, it has a really nice roar and rumble at launch. At full throttle from zero to sixty, it sounds very cool. More of a sports car than a truck. Another bad thing is the welds, which rusted after just a few weeks. My 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7L came with a custom exhaust system, twin tailpipes with no muffler. I must be getting old as I found this setup to be too loud. I added this muffler because it fit and promised a "moderate" sound level. It wasn't as important as I had hoped. That reduced the resonance a bit at highway speeds, but it's just as loud when idling and accelerating as without the muffler. This truck probably needs a 50 "Big Block" muffler to deter unwanted police attention, but this muffler

If you are looking to fit a muffler to your car and you have a V8 Hemi engine then the Flowmaster range is a must. It was installed on the 2020 Ram 1500. This muffler is only a day old but I like it. I go to work very early and don't want to upset the neighbors. He has a nice deep growl. It's not too loud, but not too quiet either. I'm sure it will deepen a bit over time.
