Description of 🐊 TS100 Alligator Finder by Fluke Networks

Fault finder with tone generator locates open and short circuits, measures cable length, helps isolate individual wire pairs, and detects AC voltage on the line. Works on any two or more conductor cable up to 3,000 feet (915 meters). VOP (Velocity of Propagation) can be set to match a cable's specifications to optimize the accuracy of fault location and cable length measurement. Patented SmartTone analog tone generator with five distinct cadences for isolating individual wire pairs. Four-digit LED display for viewing readings.

Amazing gauge! on Test, Measure & Inspect

WOW! I'd love to tell you what I use it for, but I don't want other companies in my area using the meter the way I do. This unit is superb and worth every penny for wires and shorts!

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Other Other

Coax works great too.

You have to be careful with the mains switch, I killed the battery several times by hitting the housing and switching it on. I use this to test LMR400 and LMR200 cable setups, it's way faster than anything else I've used. We connect it, it tells us the distance, we short the other end and it does a continuity test. Great device.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Discontinued model

This used to be called "ShortStop "

I had several of these. The first, after several years of excellent service, failed, got caught in the rain and collapsed; my fault. Got another one and it was stolen. So far this one seems to be just as reliable as the others I've had. Knowing the distance to opens or shorts in wires saves a lot of time. Changing the signal when the wires under test are shorted helps avoid having to have 2 people on hand to troubleshoot bad pairs of low voltage wires or even wiring problems on high voltage…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old
