Description of Flukers 4 Watt Heat Mat 5 Inch

Fluker's Hermit Headquarters has an easy-to-use heating mat for Hermit Crabs that keeps your Hermit Crab at a stable temperature. This heating mat is 2 watts which provides just the right amount of heat for your pet. Made of durable construction which provides a uniform, evenly distributed heat. For use outside your pet's enclosure. Since hermit crabs require deep sand substrate, do not mount heat mat below enclosure. Mounting below enclosure can cause heat buildup which can damage your enclosure or create a fire hazard. Side mounting is recommended for enclosures to allow proper ventilation and also allows heat to penetrate into your pet's enclosure. Durable Construction Provides Uniform, Evenly Distributed Heat. Adhesive Backing Provides Easy Mounting on the Side of the Tank. Country Of Origin: China.

Works best in a terrarium Heat Lamps and Mats

A few friends and I have tall vase aquariums and they are perfect for them, just place the vase on a heat mat. First ordered one and it worked fine for a few months, then friends wanted them for their fish vases too, ordered a few more.

Pros
  • Consistent Test Results
Cons
  • Problems

Ideal for heat lamps and terrarium mats

This is great, it's exactly the size I ordered and it doesn't get hot enough to be dangerous but it will definitely keep my Hermies warm. I put it in a darker corner of the tank so the crabs don't lie under or next to the heater, they're still warm.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • The list is long.

Good heating but have a 2W heater.

I received a 2w heater but I double checked my order and found that it is a 4w heater. The size is the same (4x5 inches) and the heat seems adequate for our small hermit crab tank, but buyers should be aware if you really need 4W.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Brief instructions

So far, so good! on Reptiles & Amphibians

No aquarium heater small enough for sea monkey/aqua dragon tanks, but this little hermit crab mat seems to do the job well! I bought the 6x8 inch size and it seems to heat the water to 76 degrees. I hope this rug will love it so far!

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not Sure

Not getting hot enough to affect the temperature in a small tank

Not getting hot enough to make a difference. Purchased for a small 9 inch round case. I don't feel any heat even if I press my hand on the carpet. Maybe the mines are out of order? But the baby's crabs are freezing! I hope they don't die while I'm looking for a replacement.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Obsolete

Fragile plastic but does the job

I bought this for my son's hermit crabs. He could warm the space under her cover, which we really needed. Revain's price is much cheaper than a large pet store. It's a brittle plastic and you attach it to the bottom of the cage, but I found it easy to remove and reattach.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Fits

Ideal for baby crested geckos

Best value for money. It's better to buy it here on Amazon than at the pet store where they charge $25 for it. Perfect size for my newborn crested gecko. It is kept in a small tub until it is big enough for a small Exoterra aquarium. The heating pad is the perfect size and will not overheat like other heating pads! PERFECT

Ideal for fighting fish!

My kids got one of those you see on TV for a rooster for Christmas (My Fun Fish Cleaning Tank). Even though we live in Southern California, it gets below 30 degrees at night and the poor fish looked like they were in stasis. I was afraid to buy an aquarium heater after reading too many reviews of how they cook fish. The tank is very small, maximum 2 liters. I put that under him (I didn't use glue, I left the plastic) and it keeps the water from going below 70. I have to say he's a lucky little…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Quality
