Not deep enough for water

This bowl can be used for food and treats. However, this cookware is NOT deep enough for water. Ground hermit crabs need enough water to fully submerge their entire body, at least 16 ounces with a mesh ladder to get in and out. They store water in their shells. So if they don't get the right amount, your crab may not survive. Find out about hermit crabs before investing. It's not as easy as you might think.

Pros
  • Country of origin: China
Cons
  • Very expensive

Excellent quality, perfect in every way

This product is so well made that a lot of effort has gone into it. It also has some weight with a large rim around the bowl. I thought it would be too big, but it's not big enough to leave minimal room for my one hermit crab in my small 3 gallon tank. It is very easy for him to get out without steps, so he is suitable for both small and large crabs :) VERY happy with this bowl. Not cheap, worth every penny!

Pros
  • Lagoon can also be used as a feeding bowl
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Doesn't hold water.

This bowl looked fantastic, it's thick and feels heavy and solid. No, that is not so! I accidentally started licking and soaked my hermit crab substrate which could be a death sentence. He was in the aquarium for about 2 weeks when I noticed that he was getting faster and faster in the water. I was shocked and terrified when I realized what had happened. My only crab had a molt and I've been checking for bacterial blooms and now I just have to wait and see. Don't buy for water. If you want to…

Pros
  • Fluker's Lagoon is a bowl that can be partially submerged to save space and create a natural pool.
Cons
  • Out of fashion
