Nice but not as thick as I expected

I think I thought this tarp was thicker than it actually is. I recently used it under my 8 person tent and it worked well. I just hope sticks or other sharp objects don't pierce it in the future. I like two colors. I put the brown side down on the floor so the dirt stains wouldn't show up as easily. It's big, cheap and delivered quickly so I would give it 4 stars for that.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Lightweight, durable tarp

Needed a 700 mile pickup tarp. The tarpaulin was light and fairly easy to handle. I used weight belts on top and a pair of bungee to cut the pops in the back, I had some plastic chair legs sticking out of the tarp. One ride showed heavy wear, discoloration, a hole where the chair leg rubbed, a couple of missing grommets that were torn off. Not a tarp I would recommend for multiple weekend hikes or heavy use; did the job for the trip and can still be used for what it is.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

Inexpensive, lightweight canvas. It's not brown

Bought to build a house, emergency shelter. The colors don't even come close to matching the picture. When I first opened it I thought they sent me the wrong tarp. The "brown" side is closer to the gray. There is a brownish undertone but not the same as in the picture. I've bought brown tarps before and this one isn't brown. The green side is much lighter than the picture, with a silvery sheen. It is only 5 mils thick so is only suitable for light duty use, not for long term use in the…

Like 2 garbage bags thick.

I ordered this tarp because it was the right size for me, plus it was green/brown. Green is not the color of nature. it is turquoise green. Most importantly, it broke almost immediately when I dragged it across the woodpile I took it for. If it's 'medium mode', I don't want to see anything rated 'easy mode'! The thickness of this tarp is about as if you doubled a heavy duty plastic garbage bag. Really! I'm not happy with that, but I can leave my ugly but strong tarp (bought from America's…

Green and brown is a waste of money.

Total nonsense. NOT "Heavy Duty" as stated in the description, and not 7 mil thick, although I did get the green-brown. When unpacking, several eyelets were gone and the material itself was very thin. Lasted 3 days as a temporary canopy over my porch, attached to a metal frame. Although properly secured, it was ripped apart after a windy day in suburban Arizona - the bushings on 3 sides had been ripped out. I can't comment on its effectiveness for covering firewood or the like, but it sucks as…

Good weather protection for the camp

I ordered this tarp as a shelter for an upcoming hike where rain was forecast (camping with a tent). The tarp was hung at 4 corners between the trees 20 to 30 feet apart, supported in the middle by a rope between the trees. Offers good protection for sitting in heavy rain, no leaks. The eyelets held up very well. Contrary to other reviews, my tarp was the same as pictured; brown on one side and green on the other. I didn't measure the thickness in mils but it appears to be as described. I had…

Pros
  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • There are disadvantages

Good tarpaulin, lighter than canvas, lasts longer!

No product gets 5 stars because nothing is perfect. However, for the price this tarp is a great buy as it is lighter than canvas and made from a more durable material and will last a long time with proper care. I grew up with nothing but a tarp. and they still exist to this day (I'm 24) but are riddled with gaping holes, making them practically useless for what I needed that tarp for - pitching my tent on top of it to protect the bottom of the tent from the damp ground. The sockets don't look…

This is NOT a 7mil tarp, find another seller

I bought this tarp because the price for 7mil was pretty low. Tarp size 12x16 feet. I typically use 5 mil tarp in the garden to cover furniture and the more expensive 10 mil tarp for outdoor sheds and have had a few tarps over the years. This is NOT 7mil tarp and nowhere on the packaging does it state thickness, which in itself should be a warning sign. A quick check with a micrometer AND calipers and it looks like it's closer to 3 mils (my 5 and 10 mil tarps measured 5 and 10 mils exactly)…

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Something is wrong
