I bought a Fossil leather belt of the same type but from another Revain retailer. I really liked the previous belt and it eventually wore out. Although they say this belt is leather; it does not look like leather and does not stretch like real leather. I wear "38" and have for many years; This strap says "38" strap, but is smaller than my other 38" straps.

I've bought a basic genuine leather belt in stores and online. The straps I grew up with lasted forever and stretched to punch another hole. Many modern belts are laminated scrap pieces that break easily, and the thin metal coating on the buckle wears out quickly. I chose a 34" brown Fossil Joe belt. The belt looks nice and high quality. This appears to be a well made strap, but again I have noticed a discrepancy between the sizes listed in English units and the sizes manufactured in metric units. I ordered a size 34 belt but I can hardly put it on with the end hole. The belt is at least 2 inches smaller. I'll keep it because I've lost some weight, but it would be nice if factories in distant countries could convert units from metric to English a bit better.

We have ordered 42 and 44 of this belt to keep the matching one and return the other one. Size 42 fits perfectly in the middle hole. 44 was returned. We liked the Fossil belts because of the genuine leather they were advertised and labeled with. The husband wore the belt twice, and it stretched so much that it didn't even last to the last hole. I've read reviews that this belt came one size smaller and could be ordered a size or two larger than usual. Some thought Fossil was trying to save the skin! I took the advice and ordered a size 38 although I usually wear a size 34. The belt arrived exactly as advertised - 38 inches from buckle to center hole (this is how belts are usually measured). I'm sending it back, somewhat annoyed by the reviews that misled me.
