Good choice for beginners

I've been a pickle ball player for a long time and have tried different Franklin paddle models. Franklin Sports racquets with a polypropylene core are well suited for beginners in the game. These racquets are well made, lightweight and good for ball games. Don't expect them to be built for power plays and the handling of these paddles is pretty good so far. Good price for its value.

It is excellent. for pickleball

Nice set. Two decent oars and four outside balls. The blades are made of fiberglass and have a slightly textured surface that makes it easier to spin the ball. The handles are comfortable. While one only gets used to them; I'm used to my clumsy wood and they return the ball with more power (forcing me to hit it out of bounds until I get used to it). It is listed as an outdoor playset. As far as I know there are no specific racquets for indoor or outdoor play, but I understand why they are…

Performance paddle set also suitable for beginners!

I've played with aluminum, several graphite surface composites and several woods. This Franklin fiberglass surface has a rough, sandpaper-like finish that helps grip and spin the ball better. As light as other non-wood paddles. For players who like to spin, this racket is for you! I also recommend this racket to beginners, but it is less forgiving of misdirections and other handling errors. Players learn to play with the equipment provided to them, so after some use the beginner will quickly…

Good starter set at a good price

I've only played pickleball once so I gifted this set to my brother as he is an experienced player. He told me they were "very good" paddles. He did mention that they were a bit larger than his regular paddle, but that was a positive thing, as was that they were light. Based on other reviews I've read, the price of these ball paddles (which can cost $2 each) is good. Seems to be a good set for beginners. I apologize for not providing more details but the pandemic has prevented me from going out

Great for Pickleball beginners

If you've never played Pickleball before, you're in for a treat. Pickleball is a great backyard game, slow enough for everyone to get in on the action. Fun for everyone from kids to grandparents, it's the perfect game to get people off their phones and enjoy some light exercise. Normally you play with a net, but we like to use our set on the beach, just trying to toss the ball back and forth. This set contains two fantastic racquets and four balls. The balls are heavy enough to gain speed but…

Good Clubs and Balls

My partner and I used the clubs in this set solely for weekend pickleball games and we both found the clubs and balls to be decently made and easy to play with. We switched to our regular pickle balls for our last game to see how the paddles work with it and they were good. We still prefer our honeycomb composite core paddles, but these are the second best paddles we've used. The grips on the paddles are nice and the textured surface makes it easier to hit the ball where you're trying. and we…

Nice solid set. Good value for money.

Franklin Sports has some good options for sole paddles. This set includes two spatulas and four outer brine balls. The paddles in this set are lighter. They are very similar to the Franklin X1000 paddle. They are just a hair heavier (about 0.2 oz) and have a longer shape with rounded top corners. The blade section is slightly longer than the X1000. They also have a rougher surface. I actually prefer these lighter (and slightly thinner) paddles over the more expensive options. There is good…

Very good starter kit - good average values.

This is a really great starter kit. I've played with several different balls and racquets and learned a thing or two about both. Racquets come in different lengths/widths, weights and grip circles. Some have a shorter but wider head, while others are longer and narrower. Smaller players may need a longer racquet for longer reach, taller players may need a shorter racquet for more movement speed. These paddles are 16 inches long including a 5 inch handle that sits closer to the center of the…
