So far so good, after the first haircut.

So far so good. Used to make a prototype mortise lock and tenon using a plunge router, a set of bushing guides, this attachment along with a template I made from birch plywood. The spike is 1 1/2" long and this bit cuts easily and accurately through a deep end slot. I'm hoping it will hold about 25 more joints and I'll consider it worth the money. If not I'll edit that Contribution.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Withstands abuse and good quality control

I made 104 plunge cuts with this cutter to make 52 grooves in two days. I would say it withstood the violence. However, it was not easy to pierce the router because the drill does not go into the hole like a twist drill. The drill bit diameter is as specified and is instantly sharp. Be careful when unpacking the plastic sleeve, it is stuck. And the bat was tight at the base.

Works like a dream with straight, spiral and trim bits

I am making a white oak bedside table for my niece's wedding present and needed to fit 22" slots in the legs so I could insert the top. Because they stopped 4 inches from the bottom of the legs I couldn't use socket blades on a table saw. So I took this bit and used it in our top router and it made nice grooves. This is my third Freud cutter and I am happy with their work.

Best in the straight row

Bought for cutting drawer bottom grooves in smaller plywood. Does a really good job. small transitions on the table of the router - otherwise the skirting board will become very clogged with wood chips, which will get quite stuck and contribute to the deflection of the router if you do not guide it safely. Don't ask me how I know (practice cut, luckily!). Just be careful not to drop it or hit it on anything metallic - it's small and hard and doesn't respond well to such impacts. Keep it in aโ€ฆ

Cuts great and slices a full 1 3/4 inches.

I made a cherry table and used it to cut the grooves and the grooves were 6 boards long. I made grooves 1/2" deep for the slots to position the boards. Total cutting distance is about 55 feet of cut. The drill bit was still sharp and cut 10 1 3/4" deep slots in the ends of the table I think there's a chance those who broke the drills tried to cut all the way through in one pass and at too high a speed. . To cut a full 1 3/4" groove, I did 3 passes, which is more or less standard procedureโ€ฆ

Great tact. best in tailors

I love Freud's tailors and blades. As expected, this attachment spins neatly and cuts cleanly. This is a very long drill but absolutely no noticeable deflection. The cut is just as clean and straight at the tip of the drill as it is at the base of the incisors. I've mainly used this for connections on a router table. This works very well when the workpiece is thick/wide enough to stay straight when pushed across the table. I tried joining a few thin pieces together, but they folded into a blade

Perfect size for 0.46 "/12mm marine plywood

Razor sharp as expected. Freud's high quality instrument. Chiselling, edge trimming, etc. This 15/32" bit is used to cut plywood profiles to the perfect size for 12mm marine plywood. I buy "1/2" birch plywood, machined on one side at a bargain price at a lumber store, but it's not 1/2" but 0.46" or 12mm. Using a standard 1/2 -" slotted drill for cases etc. makes the slot too big, loose and sloppy. This is very close but still makes the groove too wide (1/64) if you are doing precision work. The

Performance and Precision - Power Tool Parts and Accessories

I use this almost exclusively for cutting slots on small shelves. For example a clasp or stopper for a lecture book or maybe something adjustable. I could use a 1/4" straight drill bit that comes with a set of different bits and costs about the same as this one drill bit. So why should I buy this? Well, it cuts much more precisely. somehow perfect. The 1/2" shank transmits more power for each brand, but it's still a feature. The cutter goes straight and doesn't care if it suddenly hits whereโ€ฆ
