Fringer EF-FX Pro II Adapter, Canon EF to Fujifilm X-mount Review

The Fringer EF-FX Pro II adapter allows Canon EF and EF-S mount lenses to be used on Fujifilm X cameras. The Pro version features an aperture control ring that functions exactly like the ring on XF lenses. The ring turns in steps, with cutoffs of 1/3 steps. The camera considers the attached lens to be “native”, so all functions work, including automatic exposure, fast phase focus, eye focus, tracking autofocus, optical stabilization (in the lens or in the camera). Please note that depending on the camera model and lens model, performance may vary significantly. Best results are achieved with X-T3, X-T30, X-Pro3 and X-T4 cameras (X-T4, as Fuji''s most powerful camera for 2020, performs best). Models X-H1, X-T2, X-T20, X-Pro2 and X-E3 also work quite effectively. Older cameras, as well as cameras of the younger line (X-A series, X-M1, X-T100, X-T200) are slow (not suitable for focusing on moving targets). The same can be said for lenses: Lenses with a linear stepper motor (Canon STM, nano USM) work best, as motors of this type are used in all native Fuji X optics. Lenses with ring ultrasonic motors (USM) can operate several worse (in continuous tracking mode). This is especially true for older lenses with micro-motors. The body of the adapter is made of aluminum alloy, both bayonet rings are made of brass. Inside the case, a black velvet finish is used to prevent the appearance of artifacts associated with internal reflections of light in side or backlight.
