Great little external hard drive

That was a great little hard drive. (I've only had it for about a month.) Split it into two - one for backup and one for files, and it works like a charm. I love its size and simplicity. In fact, I just ordered a case for it to give it extra protection.

Beware!: External Hard Drives

Amazon has a lot of false advertising. I just bought a black version 0G05449 which was listed as 7200 rpm. I checked that the crystal is running and it's only 5400 rpm.

G-Drive stopped working in the first week of use

After transferring all our family movies to G-Drive, I worked on watching videos for 5 days. On the 6th day, this external hard drive suddenly stopped working. My MacBook Pro (2017) cannot find the device and cannot use my old computer to verify the device due to the USB-C connection. I couldn't find an adapter that would connect the device to a regular USB port. In any case, I do not recommend this external one. I'm going back to Seagate.

I'm seeing users complaining about compatibility between Mac and .

I see users complaining about the compatibility between Mac and Windows. However, there are no problems. If you switch to the Windows operating system first (in that order) and format this drive with the exfat file system, you should be able to read/write on both macOS and Windows.

it's great with one exception

it's great with one exception. I would like to see the connectors that are there with pictures. and a brief explanation that this is a USB-C port to USB-C port and that it doesn't work with older laptops. Mine is only 3 years old but old enough that it's not compatible. Luckily I just got a new desktop computer with ports. I was hoping to use this to secure my laptop but I need to order another one for my laptop. It looks very sleek, sleek and faster than non-C connector drives. Just a little…
