The only issue here is the small size. The build quality is just great. I bought a large (3 inch diameter). In my opinion, that's still not enough. If it were larger, it would hold a long power cord, air hose, etc. From the looks of it, it only holds about 50 feet of power cord and not much more. If it were bigger it would be much more useful.

I have bought many of these along with the medium size and I am so happy about it. I used to use cheap cord holders from big department stores that cost less than a dollar each, but they always failed and I ended up tangling my cords on my garage floor. They hold the cords in place and are easy to remove from my pegboard. I also use them to hold a 50 foot 14 AWG wire on my kerosene heater almost like a clamp. Very handy for storing cords and hoses. Be careful not to drop them. I use the large size on my 50 foot 3/8" air hose and when I threw it in the back of my pickup truck the black part of the ratchet broke off on the penultimate notch. It's still serviceable because I used the last notch still get a full 50ft of hose in. As another reviewer said, I've found the spring closure makes it worse.
