Hard to see!: GPS, finder and accessories

Bought this unit for use on a sailboat, tried it in the car first. Impossible to see this device in the sun with sunglasses, not much better without sunglasses. I would not be able to see this unit in a light sailboat! If you send the device back, the grayscale screen sticks.

Buy garmin 400i - GPS, viewfinder & accessories

400T is designed for the T 400i I inland lake area. Details about the lakes are sketchy, but they cover the entire US. The topography won't show that many lakes, but I live in Minnesota and know that he at least shows all the streams, ponds, and lakes and names them. But if you plan on trolling the coast, use this device as a guide. MUCH LUCK. I'll say its rugged, ultra-long-lasting lithium batteries last 2 days. and very easy to use. TOUCH SCREEN REQUIRED

Good product! - Portable GPS units

We use 400i on our boat. Has worked flawlessly for four seasons. Very durable, has survived some pretty rough rides and a few drops to the ground. :(I really liked the dashboard function, it's very similar to what you have in your car, total kilometers, reset odometer, driving speed and saved maximum speed. The inland lakes map is complete and very accurate. Cons. The screen is quite small and hard to read quickly but on the other hand it doesn't take up as much space on the dashboard as the…

400i easy to use great for anglers

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and we used it straight away. I showed lakes, ponds, rivers and streams. I've lived in South Carolina for 24 years and there were creeks and ponds I didn't know about. My husband is a bass fisherman and he will be using it for tournaments. The only thing I would like to see Garmin do is simplify Garmin registration. I had to download USB drivers and some other software to register and update Garmin (no install disc, no registration card included, and…

Preloaded maps are useless

Let me first say that I love the Oregon series. But I got my 400i Revain back in less than a week. I chose the 400T and think it's great. The touchscreen interface is much easier to use than my previous eTrex Legend HCX and 60CSX. Yes, the battery life leaves a lot to be desired, with the screen at full brightness and using the compass completely drains the battery. But what spoiled me was the pathetic preloaded maps of inland lakes. Simply put, the maps are terrible. Very few lakes here in the
