This is to difficult to use.

I copied the manual and went through it but still could not make any sense of thiswatch. It is meant for a real technical person.

Pros
  • Quickly pulls up course, easy to use and has all the needed information at your fingertips.
Cons
  • The watch may feel bulky and heavy on some players' wrists, impacting their swing performance

Father loves it!: my feedback

The perfect gift for an avid golf fan hungry to learn more about their game and the courses. It's also expandable with accessories which means you have a few holidays covered!

Battery life is an issue

Bought this as a gift for my wife. After just over year of use, the battery life stinks. It was at 100% late last night when I took it off the charger, by this morning it was down to 15% without even using it. Very disappointed.

  • Great Golf distance aid. Works great with I-phone.

  • The watch is not durable and may break easily if dropped or bumped

Watch is great - don't waste $$$ on the bundle.

I want to keep my review of the Garmin watch separate from the bundle that I purchased. I love the watch. I enjoy the interface and it does exactly what i need it to do when I'm connected to Garmin Golf and Garmin connect.My issue is with the portable charger that came with this bundle. It stopped functioning (won't charge) and apparently i can't return/replace/get any service on it since I received it on July 20 and it is now August 21 (past 30 days?). What a waste! I am very disappointed.

Pros
  • Offers nice features. Less one star due to clock having to be reset frequently.
Cons
  • Watch stopped working in 9 months and the tech dept is impossible to reach.

Huge Improvement Over Former GPS Golf Watches

Am impressed enough to where I now keep my range finder in the bag. Easy to read in bright sun, fairly accurate and so much easier to have something already on your arm. If you use it for auto scoring, it usually just gives you par score and you need to adjust manually each hole - but that's okay. Batteries good for two rounds. If you use just the watch (and good looking enough) it goes for over two weeks. Good buy.

Can’t charge it! on my review.

The charger doesn’t stay coupled to the watch. Can’t keep a charge. Tried a friends charger - she has same watch different color metal. Charger would not connect. Golf season just started and the return window is closed. Wish I had not bought this in the winter.

pretty much worthless

The range finder is consistently off by 10-15 yards. clicking through the functions is very awkward. the hazard function is cryptic. and now it consistently jumps around on the time of day--going from 2-3 hours ahead to 2-3 hours behind the correct time of day. overall it's a complete waste of money. Unfortunately it was a Christmas gift which I couldn't use over the winter and now it's now too late to return it. I guess that makes as rip-off too.Update.don't buy this watch or any Garmin…

Great Product! for my opinion

The Approach S42 is everything I hoped it to be. It quickly acquires satellites and is packed with plenty of useful features. I briefly considered purchasing the S62 which is twice the price for a few more options that after much research, I considered unnecessary. I am very happy with my choice!

No user guide included

I like the ease of golfing, tracking, scoring and saving the scorecard. I had to download a users guide and print it out. I haven’t figured out all if the functions yet.

Shot distance works less than 50 percent of the time

shot distance reading at best only work 50 percent of the time. That is very disappointing because that is the most important feature I wanted

Love this watch in my review

I bought this primarily because of the golf app on it. I am NOT disappointed at all. It does use the battery life quicker when you use it on the course but it's easy to charge.

Watch out! best in my review

I have used this watch for 5 months, noticing problems in the programming, but failing to send watch back until now when time has expired for returns. I click to see distance to next shot and it gives me a distance that I know is too far. I click again and it gives me an accurate distance. It often puts me on the wrong hole and the way to change holes is to scroll down on a dark screen in tiny print with the sun causing glare. Not easy. I liked my first Garmin and wish that the battery didn't…
