Extremely inaccurate

This device works poorly with tree canopy, even with light canopy. At certain points in my run I'm in wide open areas with a line of trees far to one side and this unit loses signal. If the signal is lost or weak, the device must interpolate the distance between legible. However, he does not do this properly or consistently. I have three main routes that I alternate: 10km, 15km and 20km. All three distances were confirmed by my bike computer, which I carefully calibrated. After 10 km, this…

Pros
  • GPS sensor provides accurate latitude and longitude
Cons
  • Expensive

new for GPS and marathon

Take on the daunting task of preparing for the New York City Marathon. This point caught my eye when I was looking for a pedometer that accurately measures distance. Having only been using the device for two weeks I would list the following: Β· Pros: 1. Easy to use - press a button (2-5 minutes after the initial GPS signal fix) and the device is ready to use. In both of the areas of northern New Jersey where I use my device, it finds a signal within 5 minutes as I stretch. If it loses the signal

Pros
  • Retrace steps to trailhead or return to regular routes for regular variations
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

This is what runners need!

I've had my Forerunner for a year now. I love the article. First, it's great to know exactly how much I've run, no matter what road, trail, or bike path I'm running on. I'm no longer tied to my "measured distances". I can explore! Forerunner also shows your current pace. This is probably the second most useful feature it has. When I run, I can tell if I've RECENTLY speeded up or slowed down. This is way better than the average pace that sdm gives you. Think about it, when you're at mile 10 and…

Pros
  • Highlight specific locations, then search and navigate
Cons
  • So far so good
