Compact, powerful, great device

I've had my Garmin for a few weeks now and have put in a few dozen hours with it. It's worked great every time, and I've figured out what settings I like and don't like and tweaked them accordingly. Under certain conditions, you don't need a touchscreen because it doesn't work. So having buttons was great. The integration with Strava is great, the navigation works very well and the mount puts the device in a convenient place while driving. .I did a comparison with the Wahoo Elemnt Roam and Iโ€ฆ

Great for cycling. I

Ideal for cycling. The EDGE 530 includes a handlebar mount, speed and cadence sensors, and a heart rate monitor. I don't connect to my phone so it's pretty easy to use. Doesn't have a touchscreen, which I think is best for my use case. Easier to use than I expected. Turn it on, wait a while to find the satellite, select the bike, press the lower right button to start the computer and press again to stop it. The summary can be viewed after the ride and shows statistics. It can also display a map

Pros
  • Practical item
Cons
  • Frequency

Considering this cycle computer costs more than any of my bikes I was expecting a lot. My $6 SunDing magnetic computer broke down, so I decided to try the latest and greatest. While this Garmin computer has a lot of great features, will likely last a long time, and has great battery life, its main function (speedometer/odometer) is far less accurate than the $6 Chinese magnetic computer I've had before. It reads 40 mph when I'm driving somewhere around 15. It reads 7 mph when I'm well over 20โ€ฆ

  • Great design

  • Not bad, but...

Originally paired with iPhone (Day 1). Second day not connecting iPhone

Revain was successful when they shipped this item so quickly. I was delighted to receive my Garmin Edge 530 for my new Trek Domane bike. Used it the first day after assembly with no problems. Leave on for 24 hours. On my second ride with it, I noticed that the cadence sensor wasn't working. I decided to enjoy the ride and deal with it later. When I returned home, I found that the device would not pair with my iPhone. I've tried at least 30 times to fix the problem using the instructions on theโ€ฆ

530 vs 830 (Edge 500 and up)

I've been hesitating between 530 and 830 for a while and wonder why in 2020 anyone doesn't need a touchscreen? I've had a touchscreen on my phone since 2008. But after asking similar questions to 530 and 830 users and watching a specific 530 video review on YouTube, I chose 530 and definitely made the right choice. Users of the 830 have occasionally reported difficulty using the screen when their hands are sweaty and swollen. And I also love clearing my screen, which would be problematic if itโ€ฆ
