For Heater Hose Bypass

My heater core was leaking and cost $700 to replace. This is South Florida so a bypass with a couple of clamps was used. Size 5/8".

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons
  • Error

Perfect Heater Bypass Hose for 2004 Chevy Impala LS 3.8L

I used this Gates 18701 molded heater hose to bypass my leaking heater core (painful to replace). It is perfect for 5/8 heating. Hose connections are located directly behind the generator.

Pros
  • A pleasure
Cons
  • Almost everything is there

Both ends are 5/8 inch. Belts, Hoses & Pulleys

Used as a heater bypass hose after my heater core started leaking. I ended up trimming the longer side a bit to even out both ends. Works perfectly. Both holes are 5/8", so you may need to use an adapter like I did. I've used Dorman heater hose connectors and have no complaints.

Pros
  • Pleases
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Gorgeous and perfect fit!

I bought this for my 1995 Acura Integra LS and it fit perfectly, as did the more expensive OEM version. At first glance, this tube looks a lot thinner than the one on your car, but that's because over time your old tube will shrink and stretch, making it look more bloated. The hole size is perfect for connectors and will end up fitting snugly.

Pros
  • complete
Cons
  • empty

It fits my '97 Civic and circulates the coolant. What more do you want?

I had to replace the old hose with this one as soon as I received it. Instead, I had to limp my car home after the inner tube burst at the start of a mountain trail. I replaced the stupid factory spring clamps with worm gears. While it works great.

Pros
  • Meets SAE 20R3 Type EC Class D-1 and D-2 specifications
Cons
  • Very expensive

Had to be trimmed but worked great on my 1st generation Chevy small block engine to bypass the heater core. I liked this one because I didn't have to change coolant fittings. I will be buying a new radiator in the future and this will ease the transition.

Pros
  • Temperature range: -40 degrees. F to 275 degrees. F (-40ยฐC -135ยฐC)
Cons
  • boring package

good thick. You can feel the quality

I went to the Autozone and didn't like the price of the hose they gave me. For almost the $15 they were asking, I was expecting something of this quality. moral of the story. I paid half what they wanted at the Autozone and got something way better than what they were offering. completely satisfied, fits well. The hose doesn't appear to be thin. Pull the trigger if you're looking at this. Well worth the wait (2 days). and you will also have more rest. :)

Pros
  • Has all the quality features of the Gates molded coolant hose and meets OEM specs
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Good quality hose. in Parts

Mounted on a '92 Honda Civic B15 engine. Goes from the distributor to the thermostat housing. This hose rubs against the heater hose from the heater core back to the thermostat housing. It's probably not a big problem, but this hose moves where the one connected to the heater core doesn't. The old hoses don't. In the picture, the hose is on top with white paper on it. You can see it meandering and rejoining the body. You can also see where it touches the other hose.

Pros
  • EPDM Hose, Synthetic Reinforcement, EPDM Liner
Cons
  • Unsure
