Amazing results you can see!

I get them every 3 months and the results are amazing, they are really easy to replace and they are almost brown after 3 months, this photo was taken after 1.5 months. The water quality has greatly improved!

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Pure clear water for kitchen and bathroom sanitary ware

We have been using these filters for about 13 years now and they are great. Before we started, our well water had so much "mud" in it that it smelled like rotten eggs. Now the water is completely clear and there is no smell at all. We really like these filters.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Speed

Helps with the smell and taste of water and coffee.

Have used these filters before. It helps a lot with our water. I use this big one for the whole house. I also have a smaller charcoal filter in the cold water line to the kitchen sink. Filtration greatly affects the taste of water and coffee. I have to change both filters about every 4 months.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Not everything fits

This seems like the best way to get our very large amount of Iron.

I keep comparing two "top" filters and this one is definitely one of them. At the moment this seems like the best way to get our very high iron out better than other brands. However, we try to use both filters for the same time and in similar situations. (Our summer consumption is much higher due to extensive drip irrigation etc.) More on the results later.

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Big and chunky

No longer a quality GE product

They've gotten a lot cheaper lately (now just GE branded instead of the old GE). No longer 10 inches, more like 9.8 inches, which can result in water bypassing the filter. The carbon must have gone down as they weigh half what they used to. We've had sediment and stains in our toilets recently and haven't had them in 10 years of using these filters. City water filtration only so the water is not very dirty to begin with but sorry after years of loyalty this is now unacceptable. I've tried…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Best of the Bunch

My house was built in 1923 and is my first line of defense against water entering my home. I live in the old and busy part of town. The area is constantly under construction. As the property is listed for sale, as a homeowner or buyer you will need to update the plumbing. All this disturbance in the ground loosens the "dirt" in the systems and I found that my filter needed to be changed every month. I'm so glad I posted this. I have finer filter systems for drinking in the kitchen and it saves…

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • Not Bad, But...

Get rid of the taste of chlorine in the water!

We installed the entire filtration system at home about a year ago and have been pleased with how it filters sediment. We used to have to clean the sink and shower because they were clogged. No longer! When our city water recently started tasting like chlorine, we decided to switch from the main filter we were using to this heavy duty filter that supposedly filtered out the chlorine. After we turned the water back on and flushed the system, the water was clean and clear with no chlorine taste!

Pros
  • Fresh water temp - 40-100 F
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other purifiers
