So after getting a dry verdigris bite while trimming a hedge I couldn't get in without some protection lol. These rugged shoes did it. They are easy to adjust and put on, and the shoe vent closes the top of the foot. They twist as others have said, but that's easily fixed with a thick rubber band on the instep.

I am 6-2 years old and my top 2 or 3 inches on my legs bothers me. They still leave part of the thigh uncovered. In west Texas, where the lines are big, that worries me a little. Also, they are easy to put on, but tend to come loose because the buckles that attach the alligators to the leg are loose and twist.

Gaiters are easy to put on and adjust. They're snug enough for my "thin" calves and seem strong enough to protect against venomous snakes and thorns in those hard-to-reach places I need to get to. The problem is that the flap intended to protect the arch of the foot folds over the back. An underfoot strap or lace clip prevents this. I can make changes or choose to abandon them and order something else.

Straps do not slip and hold due to poorly designed buckles. Also, it's an uncomfortable fit as the front is flat and not curved, which makes it rotate on your legs. I ended up just going to a chain of sporting goods stores in my town and they were selling dragon leggings for about the same price but the design and finish was 3x better. And the fit was much better because the front of the sock is curved to conform to your foot.
