GEARWRENCH Impact Socket Standard Metric Review

I received my socket set, opened it up and the first socket selected, 1/4 inch, did not fit the bolt head. I tried a deep socket and it didn't work either. I had to go back to my old set of sockets.

Excellent quality and no shortage of sizes. Great case with secure closure. Nice workmanship and easy to read. I was torn between this set and another in a red case , but went with a notched wrench because I trust their quality.

This is a great socket set with really good coverage and a nicely made and very compact body (for the number of heads it contains. I bought this to use with my DeWalt 1/4" to put an impact wrench in my pocket .

Haven't used them yet but I have a set of 3/8 gear drives and they are amazing so I'm sure they will be ok with you are made in China but that's it.

IMPACT Decent sockets, definitely. If you're tired of ruining your expensive chrome sockets with a 1/4" punch, you'll be very pleased with the durability of these sockets. The bushings and fasteners are all in great condition after some small carburetor bolts are really stuck. Pretty impressed!

I have been a shade tree mechanic for many years and usually use my 3/8" sockets for most jobs and 1/4" heads were considered new until I got this one Have worked hard on my truck for years and drove 1/4 in many hard to reach places. As it turns out I can use 1/4 most of the time, and I have a lot more options to work with the full set, not as many limitations.

God what a nice set. Wide range of sizes in deep, shallow, metric and SAE. Right down to the smallest ones you usually use wrenches on. A fantastic companion to the DeWalt 20V automotive and general purpose impact wrench. The sockets are of very good quality and well marked. The price-performance ratio is outstanding. Good luck FIND another 1/4" set, especially at a reasonable price. Great addition to your tool box.
