Great reception, quick latch

I've tried a number of cheap ublox m8n devices and this is my favourite. I put it on my RC wings with an Arduplane and mostly get 15-20 satellites and sometimes more. I would give five stars if the antenna wasn't so easily detuned. If you're using it for a fixed application, this isn't a problem, but the planes will collide when you land, and this can interfere with the antenna a bit after a while. However, highly recommended.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some flaws

I have a used item that is not working.

Bought in August but didn't use it until October when I finally finished building my 7" quad so of course my returns window is closed. Too bad it doesn't as they sent me a used one, the wires were already cut and soldered. Who cares as long as it works BUT it doesn't work. It finds some satellites in Betaflight when it just sits still, but never fully locks into place. He sat outside on an outdoor bench for more than an hour and he never fixed anything. That's junk, buy a BN-880 if you want to…

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Exorbitant piggy bank

I've had this for a few weeks. It worked fine. It could acquire GPS and GLONASS satellites fairly quickly (much faster than NEO6M). When I used the u-blox configuration settings it worked with this program and I was able to change the baud rate and other settings. This saves the settings across reboots. However, after a few minutes, it reverts to the default settings. I am building an Arduino based system that requires a high baud rate and refresh rate, this has made me very frustrated and now…

That does not work! Best in GPS, Finder & Accessories

Installed on RPi4. I have mapped the connection to gpio contacts, installed the necessary software, the connection will not be established. Tried on another RPi4, same result. A colleague also tried it on his personal device and the same result.

Pros
  • Positive Only
Cons
  • Requires Socket

Works Perfect - GPS Accessory

I love everything about this GPS receiver. I give 5 stars for a GPS receiver under $20. It has two working status LEDs, one for satellite FIX and NMEA provide transmit cycles, the connector and extra cables are the best I've seen. I bought a total of 21 for my business project and plan to buy more.

Pros
  • Complete Set
Cons
  • Very Expensive

Takes too long to commit and no memory at all

You have to make sure it's literally on the window if you want to get any data at all. It is very position sensitive and will take some time to fix even if it is in a good place. Because of this, it is difficult to guess where to get it. Put it near the window once, waited 15 minutes and nothing. I moved it two inches and two minutes later it worked. With that in mind, it can be quite frustrating when you turn it on and off and move around slightly, especially since it has no memory at all. A…
