In my experience, the General AltiMAX RT43 radial tire doesn't take a serious pothole. Wife crushed three General AltiMAX RT43 radial tires. Two in one day and one more today. I haven't had this problem with other tires. My wife had an accident a couple of times, got a ticket, etc. Will not buy General tires again. 3 of these General AltiMAX RT43 radial tires crashed in under 10,000 miles.
Application is for Hyundai Sonata FWD. These tires ensure a quiet and smooth ride. They are not sports tyres, but they handle corners quite well. Braking is confident, smooth and predictable. They also work very well in the rain and excel in snowy Maine winters. We haven't owned them long enough to give an accurate tread life estimate, but they are manufacturer rated for 75,000 miles. I bought a set of these for my SUV and loved them so much I installed a set of 4 on my wife's Sonata as well…
3 year UPDATE: I've put almost 40,000 miles on these tires and still have a couple of 32 inches over the wear indicators. I'm a "keen" rider so happy with the durability. I will probably buy another set next year. They appear to be just as good as the Michelins they replaced in terms of handling, wet grip and snow handling. The mileage guarantee is better and they are much cheaper. This is the third set of Altimax tires I have purchased for all three vehicles. The rest are 2 years old and still
