Bad design is best in circlip pliers

scrap. Great idea, but it just doesn't work. I got it to work by installing a #10 washer on the other end and then hammering it in.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • Requires socket

Don't waste money!

No matter how hard you squeeze the handles, the grommets will not close fully, leaving a jagged edge that you could cut yourself on.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Very expensive

Just. Not. Work.

It couldn't be any other way. I've tried this with all types of bushings. 12 different times. The anvil was badly dented so it will never stretch the bushing support ring.

Pros
  • Power tools and hand tools
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Good for. Nothing?: Circlip pliers

Pretty poor quality. Bought from Home Depot, bent the handle at the first loop, traded from Home Depot, then made about 10 loops before bending the handle enough to break it. Can work well for threading stitches through paper but not rubber or leather. I strongly do not recommend this item.

Pros
  • Hand tool
Cons
  • Long delivery time

OK for a small job but too cheap for something big

I have a $20 set of these pliers that I bought from Joanne for 3/8" spacers. I couldn't find a size for this version anywhere so I decided to try them for an additional $6 and hope they grow larger. Well, it turns out that they are very small (see photo). The grommets are only one piece so the backing looks pretty poor and not as strong as the two piece sets. The holds are pretty short and I could only do a few at a time before my hands just couldn't clench and I had to start using the floor…

Pros
  • Circlip Pliers
Cons
  • New Competitors Popped Up
