💾 Affordable 500GB Generic 3.5" SATA Internal Hard Drive - High Storage Capacity Review

Discs were not new but in excellent condition. I have matching 500GB Hitachi drives, a bit noisier than WD's but they do the job well.

This part was used for a general purpose desktop computer that experienced a hard drive failure. Easy to enter and works perfectly. For inexpensive repairs, this is a good choice. While not a large storage drive, it works just as well as a lower power OEM drive. For a similar occasion I would buy another one if needed.

I removed a 6-year-old window from the device. He is in great shape and works great. I need it to replace my Mac's backup drive and it's perfect as an inexpensive backup drive.

I've had some issues with this. The first one I ordered was the wrong hard drive type (not SATA) so I had to send it back. They responded quickly and sent replacements. The second CD came out a few days later. It looked fine out of the box, so I installed it on my desktop and started my computer (it was the second drive for it). The universal drive I bought turned out to be a Western Digital Caviar Green Drive with 7200 rpm, SATA 2 with transfer rates of up to 300 kbps and 16 MB cache, I use a solid state hard drive to speed up my operating system Load and have two such 1.5TB disks, one for storage and the other for programs such as Outlook, Adobe, etc. Remember that your results may vary, and always bear in mind the limitation ;)

The drive was new from Western Digital in sealed factory static packaging. Came in a box, not bubble wrap. This was the first SATA drive I owned and had a problem with my motherboard not recognizing it. I contacted the seller and he offered to replace it with the IDE drive I'm used to with priority shipping if I can't get it to work. I took a chance because everyone here said they had Western Digital drives. Well I have a Hitachi Ultrastar, the worst of the worst. Guess what? Broke after 30 minutes Windows run. I wasn't surprised. Save time and hassle and buy another drive.
