Genuine OEM Thermostat

This is a genuine OEM thermostat for the 2.5 liter engine in my 2004 Forester. New condition in sealed packaging. With sealing ring.

Pros
  • Slim Design
Cons
  • Damaged

OEM is the way to go for Subaru

Perfect replacement for the EJ253 I was working on. The seller accidentally forgot the gasket, but quickly sent it to me. Everything worked perfectly

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Expensive

Genuine Subaru parts always work better.

An exact OEM replacement seems to work better than the generic brand. Because my temperature sensor stays stable at normal temperature, even a little lower than generic brands.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • I won't tell

OEM, well said, good for spare parts

OEM thermostat. For most people this is what you need. When in doubt, this is what you need. Do not switch to a lower temperature thermostat unless you can provide a physical explanation as to why you are doing so. :)

Pros
  • Robust surface
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Better than a 3rd party replacement

This thermostat is much more important than the thermostat that was installed when the shop did a major overhaul on my Subi. So far this is working fine. I wish they would fit a certified part but learned the lesson. This is easy work.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Appearance

Perfect fit for 2010 WRX

Been a few months and no complaints. Works as it should and gives me peace of mind. The temperature stays right in the middle and never changes. Perfect OEM replacement. I used to use a non-OEM replacement as recommended by an independent shop and it only lasted a couple of weeks. This is the thermostat you need for longevity and peace of mind.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Volume

Thermostat and Gasket fits Saab 92-x Aero

Turns out my radiator was busted but this part was perfect for my 2005 Saab 92-X Aero (aka Saabaru, essentially a WRX with Saab body parts). Preliminary testing (putting it in boiling water to make sure the thermostat opens properly) showed it was working normally. It has been installed in the car for a few months now with no problems. Arrived much quicker than expected on delivery and it was nice to get the thermostat and matching gasket in one package.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • old

Not a direct replacement for a 2011 Outback 2.5i

The description says it's for a 2011 Outback 2.5i but I started getting P0128 (low thermostat temp) fault codes after installation. Checked the original factory t'stat and found it was rated at 88C, this one is 78C. I'm not downgrading this part because it's my fault. I followed Revain's "Fits Your Car" recommendation and did not verify the old part number prior to fitting. Save yourself the heartache and make sure your car actually accepts 78C t'stat before installing this.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Some imperfections
