Good scissors but could be better

These scissors are extremely useful when working with hooped fabric. They are very sharp. However, the one I have comes off a bit when cutting. Also, I would have liked thinner blades so they cut flush when trimming jump threads and are better suited for short jumps. I was a bit disappointed as I own eight wonderful Gingher dressmaking scissors and expected the same smoothness and quality from them.

Also great for left-handers

I have several embroidery scissors, some specifically for cutting appliqués. But this is now my only "weekend" machine applique scissors. They are very comfortable and the blades are not too long and not too short. But most importantly, they are very slim fitting. I'm left handed and it's hard to find really good scissors but these fit the bill. You are worth your money!

Pros
  • Same as all others
Cons
  • So-so

Great for trimming transition threads

Being new to embroidery I thought I had all the scissors I need for this process. I have several pairs that I use when sewing to trim loose threads, but I quickly found that they are not ideal for getting under the sewing foot. my expectations. The double bend is ideal for trimming transitional threads while the hoop is still on the machine.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Annoying

Maybe you have a bad couple?

Terrible product shape. Scissors do not cut cleanly along the full length of the blade (in the middle or at the tip). Don't know if they're broken and I just received a broken pair? The reviews were so good I thought they were worth double the price. They were clearly in an unopened box, and the scissors themselves have an actual ginger stamp on them, so when I opened them I was hopeful. Unfortunately they were boring. My cheap (maybe $10) scissors that I've used for decades are still better…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

I feel dizzy! Finally appliqué scissors that cut cleanly through fabric to the point! But that's exactly what I expected from the quality of Gingher. I do a lot of flat applique (material is sewn together and then cut to shape). These scissors are AMAZING! Such a sharp and very pleasant "click" at the end when the tips connect. I've only had them for a few hours and I'm in love! I have a second pair on the way. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these scissors to all embroidery lovers! An essential item for…
