This light fixture looks great over the front door of my 1914 Craftsman's home. I couldn't find an attractive light fixture in my local large retail store that didn't have a built-in LED bulb; Old wiring prevents me from using LED bulbs in a circuit with a timer. Great looks, poor fit. The screws protruding from the wall bracket and going through the bottom panel are too long. Of course they are metric and I couldn't use my screw cutter. Even when cut to the right length, they often twist, and the little round ball on the lid can't be twisted tight enough to press the base firmly against the wall. Simple solution: take a couple of dark-colored truss screws, paint them black, and secure them to the wall with appropriately sized drywall anchors. The…
