GM Climbing Accessories 5/16 " 19kN Double Braided Rope

GM Climbing Accessories 5/16" 19kN Double Braided Rope is well made, lightweight and affordable. I will be using this rope for something other than climbing and expect it to more than meet my search and rescue and hunting needs.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Excellent rope for making smaller safety lines

I bought this rope to make safety lines for setting up and climbing trees while hunting. So far I've only used it to make an arm rope and a few attachment points for my tree lifeline, but I've found the rope to be easy to use and easily support my weight when setting up tree steps and poles.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Speed

Optimal length for setting anchors

This accessory rope is ideal for setting anchors at the top of an elevator. 20 feet is enough to make a long line around boulders or to extend the anchor when the bolts are away from the edge to avoid fraying your climbing rope. This is also the right length for making a quad anchor. The rope is flexible enough to easily tie knots, and the knots are easy to untie after weighing.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Fits

Generally a good rope for the money.

Overall a good static rope for anchor climbing. The ends of the rope are not sealed / marked with tape as in the photo, minus a few stars for that. I also took off another star because Revain shipped the wrong product the first time, so it took about 3 weeks to get the rope. Knots are also quite easy to tie. The UIAA rating is valid, so it's a legitimate rope. I'll update my review after I go out this spring and use it a few times. In general, the purchase is satisfied, except for minor flaws.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Great rope with Prusik core

I bought this rope specifically for making Prusik cores. I've made two so far with eye-to-eye connections on each end. I destroyed the first two during my studies. Never touch the inner fibers of the umbilical cord or the toast. I can't comment on the construction of the rope other than what I've read about it and the 8 strand double weave polyester is a solid rope for what I need. For what the rope costs, that's a good deal. I appreciate that it arrived on time and it was exactly what they…

Good Line Prusik - Rope

Good Line Prusik. I am pleased with the performance of this 8mm line when weaving Prusiks. I've found it works even with two turns instead of three, although I've chosen never to do this. It's very stiff so it takes more effort to tie the knot than with the softer rope that came with the HSS hunter belay system that I bought and converted for forest climbing. Charges and discharges well. Advantages. The rigidity prevents unwanted rope snagging when used as a failsafe climbing or belay device…

My Go-To Climbing Cord

This item does the job perfectly. Cordelette is strong, I've been using it for several months with no problems. I haven't died yet, so obviously this is working. My local rock is also filled with sharp stones and so far they haven't shown any signs of wear or cracking. But otherwise the cable is really good and flexible in the hand. This quality makes it very easy to tie and untie knots on the cord, even after it has been heavily used through daily use. Even if I'm lazy and tie simple overhands

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Minor issues

Excellent UIAA certified accessory rope

Took this on a weekend trip and used to install some anchors. Very Durable/Versatile - Holds up great on the top rope, including multiple falls and big swings. Still flexible enough to be able to tie knots/loops including triple fishtails to hold the ends together. I got this because at some places I climb my 20ft tether wasn't long enough to reach over the edge of the cliff - that's enough. I would align my pieces where I wanted the master point and carnation to intertwine. For those worried…

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
