I liked the look but it is more expensive than traditional plastic utensils. However, the knowledge that there is less plastic in the garbage was worth it. Although only used for cakes and ice cream, they were good for the occasion. The only complaint is that they have a "woody" taste. For me, getting a serving of ice cream with a wooden spoon attached to it as a kid was nostalgic. However, some people did not appreciate this taste.

I use them when we're out and need to do less laundry; but it's fun to start a fire with after dinner! Using plastic for single use is just criminal! We use one per person during the day and then burn them each evening to start the camp/fire. These are NOT dinner spoons. So if your meals are mostly soups/stews they might not be ideal, but gosh, just turn the plates over and drink if that's the case. Great value! "Comfort with conscience"! my now copyrighted expression for these things.

Bought for my son's first birthday, lumberjack theme. They arrived quickly and are great for a party. The fork teeth are long enough. They don't hold up well when you use them for stirring, and they seem a little thinner than the wood shavings that have historically been passed as scoops in mini ice cream cones, but they do the job well. Party and I add them to my compost after I'm done using them. I highly recommend giving them a shot if you want something more sustainable than plastic but…
