Finally able to buy this thing that costs $20! It was convenient to carry and use, and the installation was simple and imaginative!

Surprised how well it attaches to the bracket. It's great when it's open, but when it's closed the straps bend in a silly way. In addition, it diffuses the light evenly and works well outdoors too.

When you fold it up to put it away, the frame wires will bend over time. This takes the softbox out of its square shape but doesn't affect the lighting it produces. I mount it on a light stand to elevate it. I use a Godox V860 II N wireless (for Nikon), with a Godox X1 T 2.4GN wireless Commander (for Nikon) I always leave 2 diffusers installed.

I bought several of these as the price was too good to pass up. They diffuse light well, are compact and portable. However, it's almost impossible to fold it back down to the size needed for portability, making a zippered bag all but useless. Also, the inner diffuser has the thinnest metal clips, and the rubber strap came loose in a corner on first use. All in all, the price is worth it and I'll probably find a way to "fix" that corner.

I use these foldable soft boxes when I'm shooting on location. They are SUPER light and very easy to use. The light spread is great and you can't compare how much more convenient they are compared to big and bulky boxes that take longer to install. The only downside is be careful how you stack them.
