Ideal! Doubling the SATA ports.

I plugged it in, turned on the computer and installed it in Device Manager with no errors. connected my 2nd SSD and new removable drive bay. Computer turned on and started immediately, everything works fine. I am using Windows 10 on a Lenovo ThinkTank. I'm so lucky I could dance on the roof if I could get there!

Pros
  • Working in hands-free mode
Cons
  • Nothing

Windows 10 device won't start

Just won't work. My BIOS sees it as an unidentified raid controller, which should be fine (although it doesn't show any devices connected to the card), but on Windows 10 it just won't boot. Tried the native Windows 10 drivers and the drivers on the hard drive that came with the device. All connected devices are also not shown in Windows 10. Will be returned

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Just started this.

This is a basic PCI card so installation should not be a problem. I was a bit nervous initially installing this on my second computer as I needed to set up the boot sequence. This works great and now I use my hard drives in a raid in a short time. It took a while to clone my current one, but that's a software issue, not the card's limiting capabilities.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Can be damaged

NOT PCIe, plug and play SATA connectors

I bought this to increase the number of Sara drives I can connect. . It turned out that was exactly what I needed. Since it's PCI and NOT PCI, it didn't prevent my new hardware from populating all the other PCI slots. It boots to the BIOS screen, then to the raid controller, then pauses and boots. I use it on Asus z97 i74790k. I liked that it came with software, probably for setting up a raid, but I just plug and play and it worked great for me.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Low maintainability

Failed in less than 3 weeks

Very easy to install, drivers work great. He briefly breathed new life into an old 2001 XP machine. However, for no real reason, it stopped working about two and a half weeks after installation. I've tested it on a couple of other computers to make sure one PCI port doesn't suddenly fail and it doesn't work on any of the others.

Pros
  • Brilliantly done
Cons
  • Dodgy

Windows XP on Dimension 4600

This product doesn't have many reviews so here it is: It works! I'm running Windows XP Home 64-bit on a Dell Dimension 4600 and this card was easy to physically install, connect SATA cables and it worked right out of the box. I was able to install the drivers from the minidisk without any problems. It really was plug and play. So, to recap, if you have an old computer (IDE motherboard with an available PCI slot) and are running an outdated operating system (like Windows XP), then this card will

Pros
  • Easy install

  • I'm nervous

Garbage is too nice a word

Put it in an old Dell desktop computer. Appeared in POST. I connected a brand new Seagate 4TB drive and the adapter recognizes it. I'm not looking for RAID, I just need a SATA adapter for an IDE box. Install Ubuntu on the main IDE drive and Seagate will show up during the build. Try running separately and it will get stuck. After about 5 minutes I manage to get out of the part but the system no longer sees the hard drive. I reboot and now the adapter no longer sees the drive during POST. I'm…

On the way to recycling

Plugged it into the backplane and then into the Linux system drive. It started to load and then froze. Switched off, tried again and again. Hangs up every time. Tried to use it to talk to an additional drive. Used space on the second drive to expand my LVs on the main drive. Worked fine until I tried to boot again. The download stalled every time with errors accessing blocks on the secondary disk. Unplugged my DVD drive from the motherboard and plugged in an extra drive to the motherboard and…
